20th Annual California Charter Schools Conference & Anniversary Celebration

The 20th Annual California Charter Schools Conference and Anniversary Celebration will be held at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA, March 11-14, 2013. The Conference will be the culminating event of the celebration of 20th anniversary of the charter school movement.

How Will the 20th Anniversary be Celebrated at the Conference?

The entire conference will celebrate the 20th Anniversary with keynote speakers, awards and visual reminders of what has been accomplished over the last two decades in California. The hallmark of the 2013 conference is the 20th Anniversary Awards Dinner, which takes place Tuesday, March 12. The dinner will celebrate veterans, emerging leaders of the movement, entertainment and includes delicious food.

Schools are encouraged to bring their entire school staff to this exciting celebration!

To assure everyone can celebrate, tickets for the Anniversary Awards Dinner are available for the low price of $20 per person and include an appetizer, entrée, dessert, coffee, wine, and inspiring program. Who is a Featured Conference Speaker?

We are pleased to welcome to the 2013 conference Geoffrey Canada, Founder and CEO of the Harlem Children's Zone. This author and children's advocate will give an inspiring address to honor 20 years of the charter school movement.

What You Will Learn?

The mission of the California Charter Schools Conference is to inspire academic excellence, operational integrity and unity among charter schools throughout California. The annual event connects charter school experts from across the country who lead sessions on balancing your budget, obtaining a new facility, creating a safe school environment, building a productive and excellent board and how to strongly advocate for you school on the local, state and federal level.

The conference is for teachers, board members, administrators, business managers, parents, university educators, political leaders, business partners and community stakeholders.

When Does the Event Start and End?

The conference begins with the Welcome Reception at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 11 and will end with the Closing Keynote Session on Thursday, March 14 at noon. See Schedule.
