Rick Piercy

Rick Piercy is President/CEO of The Lewis Center for Educational Research, which oversees two California charter schools, the Academy for Academic Excellence in Apple Valley and the Norton Space and Aeronautics Academy in San Bernardino. He has been an educator for over 30 years and has served on the Boards of both CANEC and then CCSA since 1996. With his talent for innovation and creativity, he has and continues to provide educational opportunities for children and teachers in California, the Nation and worldwide. Mr. Piercy currently serves as an officer on the CCSA Member Council and was named the Hart Vision Charter School Leader of the Year in 2002.

Mr. Piercy received the Legacy Award at the 20th Annual Charter Schools Conference. The Legacy Awards were created to celebrate those outstanding charter school supporters, funders, operators and elected officials who have been stewards of the movement over the last 20 years. Each Legacy Award winner represents the hope and dedication of two generations of California Charter School students.
