Michelle Jennings
Michelle Jennings has been hired as a 4-5 teacher at Sierra Foothill Charter School (SFCS). She applied for this job because she found the SFCS mission and vision inspiring.
Her background includes teaching in small schools and multi-level classrooms, and using project-based instruction and a hands-on approach that motivates students. Jennings said gardening is a huge passion in her life and she looks forward to teaching science, along with other curricular standards, through such avenues as school garden projects.
“I’ve been a dancer since childhood and have a deep love for the arts,” Jennings said. “I hope to pursue dance and theater with my students.”
Principal Travis Blagg is thrilled with Jennings and three additional new teacher hires, stating the individuals possess the right combination of skills, experience, and enthusiasm necessary for the school to hit the ground running in August 2012. In addition, all three teachers hold California multiple subject teaching credentials.
